In the all grades, students need time and space to practice math concepts over and over. Concepts such as counting, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, and the foundations of place value cannot be internalized without practice. That's why math stations are so important. While the teacher works with a small group of students who need support on the day's lesson or on other concepts, the remaining students work in stations building their own understanding and fluency.
